چکیده
In this work, biomass torrefaction was combined with coal co-combustion to illustrate the differences in performance and mechanisms of migration transformation nitrogen over entire course thermal treatments. XPS analysis illustrated that CO2 suppressed conversion pyrrole-N (N-5) quaternary-N (N-Q), whereas trend for an O2 atmosphere moved opposite direction. During co-combustion, impact on NO emission reduction shifted from positive negative as pretreatment temperature raised, which is closely related six elementary reactions involving intermediacy NCO NH, well heterogeneous char. addition, a N2/O2 at lower 250 °C improved properties achieved lowest during provides supporting theory needed using effluent power plants medium.

Pretreatment of biomass by torrefaction and carbonization for coal blend used in pulverized coal injection.
To evaluate the utility potential of pretreated biomass in blast furnaces, the fuel properties, including fuel ratio, ignition temperature, and burnout, of bamboo, oil palm, rice husk, sugarcane bagasse, and Madagascar almond undergoing torrefaction and carbonization in a rotary furnace are analyzed and compared to those of a high-volatile coal and a low-volatile one used in pulverized coal inj...
متن کاملThermal behaviour and kinetics of coal/biomass blends during co-combustion.
The thermal characteristics and kinetics of coal, biomass (pine sawdust) and their blends were evaluated under combustion conditions using a non-isothermal thermogravimetric method (TGA). Biomass was blended with coal in the range of 5-80 wt.% to evaluate their co-combustion behaviour. No significant interactions were detected between the coal and biomass, since no deviations from their expecte...
متن کاملKinetic models for the oxy-fuel combustion of coal and coal/biomass blend chars obtained in N2 and CO2 atmospheres
The thermal reactivity and kinetics of five coal chars, a biomass char, and two coal/biomass char blends in an oxy-fuel combustion atmosphere (30%O2-70%CO2) were studied using the non-isothermal thermogravimetric method at three heating rates. Fuel chars were obtained by devolatilization in an entrained flow reactor at 1273 K under N2 and CO2 atmospheres.Three nth-order representative gas-solid...
متن کاملAir and Fuel Staged Co-combustion of Coal with Biomass in Power Station Boilers
The overall objective of this investigation is to develop a technology to employ biomass as substitute fuel for coal to help reduce NOx.. It was achieved by governing NOx formation kinetics through in-furnace air and fuel staged co-combustion technology. An extensive series of experimentation was carried out in a 20 kW down fired combustor to evaluate the effect of co-firing of Shea meal, Cotto...
متن کاملStudies on the Co-combustion Behaviour of Coal/biomass Blends Using Thermogravimetric Analysis
In relation to future energy demand and fossil fuel crisis particularly in India, biomass is gaining its importance for possible utilization as co-fuel. This study focuses the use of „low temperature biomass char‟ instead of raw biomass in the blends to extract some specific advantages like lowering of grinding energy, intensification of heat energy, proper adjustment of „VM and fuel ratio‟ etc...
